Van Acres Homestead - Goats for Hire

Grazing & Brush Removal

Goats and sheep are nature’s perfect brush-clearing team. Unlike machines or chemicals, goats can access steep, rocky, or sensitive terrain without damaging the environment. Their voracious appetite for invasive plants, poison ivy, buckthorn, and other stubborn weeds makes them an effective and sustainable alternative to traditional land-clearing methods.

By choosing goat-powered brush removal, you reduce your carbon footprint, avoid harmful herbicides, and support regenerative land management. Whether you're a homeowner, landowner, or municipality, goats offer a low-maintenance, low-cost, and eco-conscious way to take back overgrown spaces.

Events & Parties

Goats and sheep aren’t just great at clearing brush — they’re also naturals at bringing joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments to any gathering. With their playful personalities and charming presence, these four-legged guests are a hit at birthday parties, weddings, festivals, school events, and more.

Educational Visits

Goats, sheep, and chickens aren’t just cute — they’re incredible teachers, too. Our educational farm visits offer hands-on experiences where groups like Girl Scouts, 4-H clubs, and school classes can learn what it really takes to care for animals and steward the land.

From feeding and grooming to collecting eggs and cleaning coops, participants get an up-close look at the daily rhythms of farm life. They’ll discover how animals contribute to regenerative agriculture, explore the science behind sustainable animal care, and leave with a deeper respect for the work that goes into raising happy, healthy livestock.

Sunlight Through Clouds

Grazing in Heaven

One of the hardest parts of hobby farming is saying goodbye to the animals we’ve loved and cared for. Sometimes, we have to make difficult decisions out of compassion — and it never gets easier. Each goat and sheep friend who’s crossed the rainbow bridge left their hoofprints and heartprints here on the farm. We’re grateful for the time we had with them, and they’ll always be remembered with love.
