Hello December
As you say 'Hello December', keep in mid that December is our final chapter of the year and offers a unique opportunity to slow down, reflect, and plan for the year ahead. It’s a time to celebrate wins, acknowledge lessons learned, (i.e. admit there are areas you could have done better) and envision the growth you’d like to see for yourself in 2025.
While there are many areas you can look back on, I’d like you to take a moment to look back on your health and fitness journey over the past year. What did you accomplish? Did you hit milestones you set out to achieve? Maybe you started a workout routine, improved your eating habits, or found new ways to manage stress. Celebrate those wins—they’re stepping stones to a healthier you!
On the flip side, consider areas where you struggled - and be honest with yourself. Maybe consistency was a challenge, or life’s curveballs derailed your plans. Reflecting on these moments isn’t about dwelling on failures but about identifying patterns and opportunities for improvement.
Looking Ahead: Growth, Not Resolutions
When planning for the upcoming year, resist the pressure to create a list of rigid “New Year’s resolutions.” Instead, think about areas in your life where you’d like to grow and ask yourself:
Are there habits I can build to improve my physical health?
How can I make my mental well-being a priority?
What small, sustainable steps can I take to align with my long-term goals?
By framing these as intentions rather than resolutions, you give yourself the flexibility to adjust and evolve without the weight of “success” or “failure.” And you don’t have to wait for January 1. The steps you take in December can create momentum and build confidence going into the new year.
Improving your health and fitness doesn’t require a grand declaration at the start of the year. It’s about consistent, mindful actions that align with your values and goals. Use this month to celebrate how far you’ve come, where you are, and start building the foundation for the person you want to be in 2025.
